Frame / Structure | Internal framing uses solid Hardwood which is nailed and glued. Arms and kick boards use strong Hardwood Ply. We do not use Pine or Chipboard. |
---|---|
Support | 2 types of support are used - No sag Steel springs (Zig Zag) go from the front to the back of the seat cushion while webbing is used from side to side. |
Cushioning | Seats: Quality Medium Feel Full Foam seat cushion which is not too hard or not too soft. Tip: Soft seat cushions might feel great in the showroom, but after 6 months of use they will be too soft. Back cushions: are full fibre fill for pillowie softness, and are sewn on for a sleek, modern look. |
Recliner Mechanism | All recliners are Wall Savers. This means they only need a small amount of space behind the back to fully recline. Mechanisms are made from Steel and have an occupant weight limit of 110kgs. Tip: If you are heavier than 110Kgs, we recommend an arm chair with a matching footstool. |
Powered Recliner | All the features of the standard Recliner, but motorised. These require no effort to operate, just use the 2 buttons located on the side to recline or retract. For reliability a Top Quality, German Designed, Low Voltage Electric Motor with DC Transformer is used. |
Upholstery |
Full 100% Leather - as it implies, Leather is used all over including the sides & back. Tip: Bonded leather is marketed by some retailers as an environmental leather. It is not leather at all. The ACCC revealed Bonded Leather was just 10% leather fibres - on the back/underside! and the rest was glue & plastic. |
Q: Why are the prices so cheap? You can't sell real leather for those prices. |
A: We are the Manufacturer, and the Wholesaler, so when you buy directly from us, the prices are missing the FAT Retail Margin. So, Yes we can sell real leather for our prices, our Top Grain Leather has been tested and certified in Australia as genuine. We do not sell any Bonded or Reconstituted so called leathers. |
Q: How much space does the recliner take when in the fully reclined position? |
A: A normal recliner will need to be about 10cm out from a wall and that would give it enough clearance to recline fully. In the upright position (not reclined) the recliner is 100cm in overall depth, however when fully reclined (footrest extended and almost laying down) it will be 170cm in overall depth. |
Q: What are Powered Recliners? |
A: The easy answer is, they are motorised. A low voltage, DC Motor drives a long thread (called a Worm Drive) which moves the recliner mechanism rather than springs and physical effort. They are operated by a 2 button switch (1 button reclines, the other retracts) on the side of the arm / console. A Powered Recliner also has the full range of movement that a manual recliner has. |
Q: How are middle recliners operated? |
A: Located between the seats is a small loop handle that you pull and it releases the recliner. Middle Recliners have the same full range of movement as the end recliners. If they are electric / powered, a switch is located on the arm / console next to the recliner. If there is no arm / console, then it will have a remote control. |
