Frame / Structure | Internal framing uses solid Hardwood which is nailed and glued. Arms and kick boards use strong Hardwood Ply. We do not use Pine or Chipboard. |

Support | 2 types of support are used - No sag Steel springs (Zig Zag) go from the front to the back of the seat cushion while webbing is used from side to side. |
Cushioning | Seats: Quality Medium Feel Full Foam seat cushion which is not too hard or not too soft. Tip: Soft seat cushions might feel great in the showroom, but after 6 months of use they will be too soft. Back cushions: are full fibre fill for pillowie softness and is velcroed on for easy maintenance. |
Recliner Mechanism | All recliners are Wall Savers. This means they only need a small amount of space behind the back to fully recline. Mechanisms are made from Steel and have an occupant weight limit of 110kgs. Tip: If you are heavier than 110Kgs, we recommend an arm chair with a matching footstool. |
Powered Recliner | All the features of the standard Recliner, but motorised. These require no effort to operate, just use the 2 buttons located on the side to recline or retract. For reliability a Top Quality, German Designed, Low Voltage Electric Motor with DC Transformer is used. |
Q: How much space does the recliner take when in the fully reclined position? |
A: A normal recliner will need to be about 10cm out from a wall and that would give it enough clearance to recline fully. In the upright position (not reclined) the recliner is 100cm in overall depth, however when fully reclined (footrest extended and almost laying down) it will be 170cm in overall depth. |
Q: What are Powered Recliners? |
A: The easy answer is, they are motorised. A low voltage, DC Motor drives a long thread (called a Worm Drive) which moves the recliner mechanism rather than springs and physical effort. They are operated by a 2 button switch (1 button reclines, the other retracts) on the side of the arm / console. A Powered Recliner also has the full range of movement that a manual recliner has. |
